Licensed Plumber (PIRB Registered) – Fixed-Term

Know your way around SANS 10254 and a geyser drip tray? The private hospital maintenance department in Isando wants to hear from you. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Isando. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Clear blocked drains with a rodding machine and inspect lines with a drain camera
• Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254
• Work on the emergency call-out roster for after-hours bursts
• Install and repair soil and waste pipes to SANS 10400 Part P
• Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings
• Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job

• Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254
• Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
• Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs
• Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
• PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs

• SAQCC Gas registration for LPG installations
• Experience with insurance repair work and claim paperwork
• Drain camera and high-pressure jetting experience

• Mention how many geyser replacements you do in a normal month. It is the number most plumbing managers ask about.
• Do not list every plumbing task you have ever done. Focus on geysers, drainage and CoCs, which is what these jobs pay for.
