Job Description

You'll cook fast, clean food on the line at a conference centre kitchen in Midrand. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The work is in Midrand, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Run your station during service and call back every ticket from the pass.
Log fridge and freezer temperatures twice a shift on the HACCP sheet.
Train the kitchen assistants on knife safety and prep standards.
Plate to the spec photo so every dish looks the same.
Bake breads, pastries or desserts for the morning buffet.
Help cost recipes and track waste on the weekly sheet.

What you need

1 to 3 years in a busy commercial kitchen
You take instruction from the head chef without drama
Weekend, holiday and evening work is part of the deal
Good knife skills and you can prep at speed

Extra points for

Pastry or bakery training
Stock and ordering experience on a system such as Micros or Pilot
