Line Cook (Grill Station)

Service is busy at this wood-fired pizzeria in Mthatha, so steady hands and a tidy station matter here. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll report in Mthatha. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Log fridge and freezer temperatures twice a shift on the HACCP sheet.
• Label, date and rotate stock using first-in, first-out.
• Train the kitchen assistants on knife safety and prep standards.
• Run your station during service and call back every ticket from the pass.
• Prep veg, sauces, marinades and portions from the daily mise en place list.

• You know food safety basics under R638 and HACCP
• Comfortable in heat, on your feet, for long split shifts
• You take instruction from the head chef without drama
• Weekend, holiday and evening work is part of the deal

• Stock and ordering experience on a system such as Micros or Pilot
• Halaal or kosher kitchen experience
• A food safety certificate from a registered training provider

• On-the-job training with a path to chef de partie
• Transport allowance for split and late shifts
• Live-in accommodation at lodge postings
