Job Description

Housekeeping keeps a conference hotel in Cape Town CBD running quietly in the background. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Cape Town CBD-based, with most of your time spent at a conference hotel. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

  • Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.
  • Restock minibars, amenities and tea trays and note what was used.
  • Do evening turndowns with chocolates and curtain closing.
  • Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
  • Hand in lost property with a written log entry.
  • Report broken fittings, leaks and damage to maintenance.
  • Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.

You'll need

  • Weekend and public holiday work
  • You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift
  • Honest and trustworthy around guest belongings
  • Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience

What you get

  • Uniform and protective gloves supplied
  • Meals on duty
  • Staff transport from nearby townships for early shifts
  • Monthly award for best room scores

How to apply
