Linux Systems Administrator – Immediate Start

An university IT department in eMalahleni needs infrastructure that just works, and someone to make it so. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll be based at an university IT department in eMalahleni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures
• Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules
• Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
• Manage users, groups and conditional access in Entra ID
• Build and maintain virtual machines on Hyper-V, VMware or Azure

• Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications
• At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
• Clear change management and documentation habits
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts

• Standby allowance and overtime for maintenance windows
• Company laptop, phone and home internet allowance
• Medical aid and provident fund
• Funded certification path
