Job Description

Start in retail here: a township shopping centre store in Montague Gardens trains packers who show up and work neat. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a township shopping centre store in Montague Gardens. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

The work, day to day

Check sell-by dates and pull expired stock for the manager
Help customers find products and carry heavy items to cars
Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
Clean spills fast and put up wet-floor signs
Unpack deliveries in the receiving area and sort by aisle
Weigh, bag and price fruit and vegetables
Collect trolleys from the parking lot

What you need

Able to stand and lift cases all shift
Neat appearance and punctual
Honest, since stock losses are checked closely
Grade 10 or matric
Polite with customers and happy to help
