Job Description

You'll keep the shelves full and tidy at a township shopping centre store in Paarl, so shoppers find what they came for. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a township shopping centre store on the Paarl side of Western Cape. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Help customers find products and carry heavy items to cars
Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
Check sell-by dates and pull expired stock for the manager
Put up price tickets and promotion shelf strips
Build promotional displays at the ends of aisles
Face products so labels point forward and gaps are filled
Visit several stores on a merchandising route and send photos of shelves

What you need

Available for weekends, month-end and public holidays
Neat appearance and punctual
Able to stand and lift cases all shift
Basic reading and maths for price checks
Grade 10 or matric
Honest, since stock losses are checked closely

Extra points for

Some till or cash-handling experience
Being 18 or older for liquor store roles
Previous shelf packing or merchandising work
