Live-In Housekeeper and Nanny – Experienced

You'll keep a guesthouse with family quarters in Alberton clean, calm and running smoothly for the family. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Alberton. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Change bed linen and make beds
• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Water indoor plants and feed pets

• South African ID or valid work permit
• Good with children and patient
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Able to speak and understand basic English

• Written contract with fixed hours and duties
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts

• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
