Live-In Housekeeper and Nanny

Steady household work in a family home in Cape Town CBD, with clear days and hours agreed upfront. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a family home on the Cape Town CBD side of Western Cape.

• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards
• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation

• Good with children and patient
• South African ID or valid work permit
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Able to handle a full-day physical routine

• Non-smoker
• Basic first aid or child CPR course

• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer

• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
