Live-In Housekeeper and Nanny

Cleaning, laundry and a hand with the kids: that is the week in a family home in Centurion. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a family home on the Centurion side of Gauteng. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Water indoor plants and feed pets
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen tidy after meals
• Change bed linen and make beds
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked

• South African ID or valid work permit
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
• Able to speak and understand basic English
• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines

• A driver's licence for school lifts
• Non-smoker
• Cooking experience with family meals

• Written contract with fixed hours and duties
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Transport money for live-out staff

• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
