Live-In Housekeeper and Nanny – Fixed-Term

A family in Montague Gardens wants someone they can trust with their guesthouse with family quarters and their children. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a guesthouse with family quarters in Montague Gardens. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards

• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Good with children and patient

• Cooking experience with family meals
• Non-smoker
• Basic first aid or child CPR course

• Transport money for live-out staff
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires

• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
