Live-In Housekeeper and Nanny

A family in Rustenburg wants someone they can trust with their retired couple's cottage and their children. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Rustenburg. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Water indoor plants and feed pets
• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen tidy after meals

• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
• South African ID or valid work permit
• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Able to speak and understand basic English
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines

• Cooking experience with family meals
• A driver's licence for school lifts
• Basic first aid or child CPR course

• Written contract with fixed hours and duties
• Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires

• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
