Livestock Handler (Cattle Feedlot)

You'll feed, milk and care for animals on a piggery near Centurion, every day of the year. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a piggery on the Centurion side of Gauteng.

• Check animals for illness or injury and report to the manager
• Collect eggs or check broiler house temperatures
• Keep water troughs and drinkers working
• Follow biosecurity rules like foot baths and clean overalls
• Move animals between camps or pens calmly
• Record births, deaths and treatments in the herd book
• Feed animals the right ration at the right time

• South African ID or a legal work permit
• Gentle and patient with animals
• Reliable, since animals depend on you
• Able to live on the farm or close by

• Supervisory experience for foreman roles
• Basic farm maintenance skills
• Previous dairy or livestock experience

• Milk or meat rations
• Training in animal health
• Production bonus on milk yield or growth targets

• For foreman roles, mention how many workers you supervised and what you were in charge of.
• Say which animals you have worked with and for how long. Farmers want someone who already knows the routine.
