Load Planner (Road Freight) – Permanent

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a road freight company in Coega. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Coega-based, with most of your time spent at a road freight company. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
• Update customers on delivery times and delays

• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• Matric
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers

• Knowledge of cross-border documentation
• Previous truck driving experience
• Logistics or supply chain certificate

• Growth to transport manager
• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems

• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
