Loading Bay Hand (Beverage Depot)

Delivery days start early in Brakpan, and a container unpacking yard needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Brakpan-based, with most of your time spent at a container unpacking yard. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals

• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• No criminal record

• Past work as a driver's assistant
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)

• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Uniform and safety shoes provided

• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
• Keep your CV to one page with your phone number big and clear. Depot managers phone, they seldom email.
