Job Description

Delivery days start early in White River, and a cement and brick yard needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a cement and brick yard on the White River side of Mpumalanga. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first

You'll need

No criminal record
Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
Willing to travel on routes that return late
Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
Friendly with customers at the door

What's in it for you

Meal allowance on long-route days
Help to get your own licence through the company later
Uniform and safety shoes provided

Applying, step by step

Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
Keep copies of these ready to send: CV noting any loading, moving or delivery work plus police clearance if you already have one.
Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
If you're shortlisted you'll hear from us within 9 working days, usually by phone.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around White River.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Before you hit apply

If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
Keep your CV to one page with your phone number big and clear. Depot managers phone, they seldom email.
