Lodge Housekeeper (Game Reserve)

Guests at a city business hotel in Prospecton will never meet you, but they will judge the stay by your work. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Prospecton, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day

• Grade 10 or matric
• Well groomed
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone

• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
