Lodge Housekeeper (Game Reserve)

Check-out to check-in in under an hour, room after room, at a game lodge in Vereeniging. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Vereeniging-based, with most of your time spent at a game lodge. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board

• Grade 10 or matric
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Well groomed

• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Share of the service charge or guest tips

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
