Job Description

You'll move property transfers from signed offer to registration at a property development law firm in Durban Central. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Durban Central; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

What you'll actually do

  • Prepare deeds of transfer, powers of attorney and bond documents
  • Book signing appointments and explain costs to buyers and sellers
  • Request bond cancellation figures and guarantees from banks
  • Lodge documents at the Deeds Office and track them through examination
  • Update agents, banks and clients on file progress on the bank portal and by email
  • Apply for transfer duty receipts on SARS eFiling

You'll need

  • Matric, with a conveyancing course for secretary posts
  • At least 2 years of conveyancing or bond work
  • Admission as a conveyancer for conveyancer posts
  • Organised enough to run 60 or more live files

Nice if you have

  • Sectional title and new development experience
  • Estate late transfers
  • Deeds Office lodgement runner experience in your city

On offer

  • Registration bonus per file at some firms
  • Parking or taxi allowance for Deeds Office runs
  • Normal office hours with rare weekend work
  • Paid conveyancing short courses

How to apply

  1. Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
  2. Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: list of banks and portals you have worked on, conveyancer admission certificate if applying as a conveyancer plus conveyancing course certificate.
  3. Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
  4. Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 7 working days.

  • Name the conveyancing software and bank portals you know in your first CV section.
