Loss Control Officer (Mall Stores)

Retail in Lephalale runs on thin margins, and a retail distribution centre needs someone guarding its stock. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

• Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
• Share trends with the store manager each week
• Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
• Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
• Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
• Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
• Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers

• Able to handle confrontation calmly
• Available for retail hours including month-end weekends
• Discreet, observant and honest
• Good report writing
• Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act

• Experience giving evidence in court
• Previous store detective experience with case outcomes

• Plain clothes work (no uniform in detective roles)
