Loss Prevention Officer (Distribution Centre)

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a building-supplies store in George before they cost jobs. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a building-supplies store in George. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
• Share trends with the store manager each week
• Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
• Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
• Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods

• Good report writing
• Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
• PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
• Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
• Available for retail hours including month-end weekends
• Able to handle confrontation calmly

• Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports
• Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
• Retail loss prevention course

• Retail trading hours, no night shift in most stores
