Job Description

You'll keep the line running at an industrial bakery in Mahikeng, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at an industrial bakery in Mahikeng. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines

Must-haves

Available for rotating day and night shifts
Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection

Helpful, not essential

A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
