Machine Assistant (Plastics Moulding)

Good factory hands stay for years, and this meat processing plant in Roodepoort trains from day one. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll report in Roodepoort. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley

• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start

• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed

• Company transport on some night shifts
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Staff shop with discounted factory products

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
