Maintenance Artisan (Shopping Centre) – Fixed-Term

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the private school in Centurion. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is in Centurion (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)

• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency

• Basic first aid certificate
• Gate motor and intercom repair skills

• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant

• Do not claim electrical work you are not licensed to sign off. Say "basic electrical, no DB work" instead.
• Write your CV as a skills list first: painting, tiling, plumbing, gate motors, pools. Managers scan for the skills their site needs.
