Maintenance Artisan (Shopping Centre) – Experienced

Handy with a drill, a paintbrush and a tap washer? The private school in George has a list waiting for you. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The work is in George, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas

• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency

• Experience with a work order system on a phone app
• Pool and borehole pump experience

• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
