Handy with a drill, a paintbrush and a tap washer? The private school in Germiston has a list waiting for you. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a private school on the Germiston side of Gauteng. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests

• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references

• Gate motor and intercom repair skills
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app
• Basic first aid certificate

• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
