Job Description

The shopping centre in Pinetown needs a reliable all-rounder to keep the buildings safe and looking good. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used

What you need

Available for the occasional weekend emergency
At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units

Nice if you have

Basic first aid certificate
Pool and borehole pump experience

On offer

Uniform and safety boots supplied

Meals on duty at hotel sites
Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
