Job Description

Handy with a drill, a paintbrush and a tap washer? The shopping centre in Johannesburg CBD has a list waiting for you. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What you'll actually do

Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist

What you need

At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store

Nice if you have

Experience with a work order system on a phone app
Basic first aid certificate

On offer

Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant

Uniform and safety boots supplied
