Maintenance Electrician (Night Shift)

The office park maintenance team in George needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll report in George. Relocation is not covered for this one. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Fault-find tripping circuits with a multimeter, insulation tester and loop tester
• Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site

• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test

• Company bakkie for call-outs and travel between sites
• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
