Maintenance Electrician (Night Shift)

You'll wire, fault-find and certify installations for the facilities management company in Kimberley. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is in Kimberley (Northern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
• Fault-find tripping circuits with a multimeter, insulation tester and loop tester
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows

• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test

• Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters
• PLC and motor control experience from a factory setting

• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year

• Put your registration category (IE, MIE or single-phase tester) and registration number right under your name on the CV.
