Maintenance Electrician (Night Shift)

This is hands-on electrical work in Komani: new installs, repairs and CoCs that pass the first time. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a shopfitting and retail fit-out firm in Komani. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Fault-find tripping circuits with a multimeter, insulation tester and loop tester
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
• Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site

• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
