Maintenance Electrician (Night Shift) – Immediate Start

The shopfitting and retail fit-out firm in Paarl needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Paarl (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
• Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies

• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter

• N3 electrical trade theory on top of your trade test
• PLC and motor control experience from a factory setting

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation

• Many applicants forget to attach the trade test certificate itself. Recruiters often skip CVs that only mention it.
• List two or three recent jobs with sizes, like a 60-point house rewire or a 10 kVA inverter install. It shows your level quickly.
