Maintenance Electrician (Night Shift)

You'll wire, fault-find and certify installations for the shopfitting and retail fit-out firm in Tzaneen. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Tzaneen (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
• Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies

• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test

• N3 electrical trade theory on top of your trade test
• Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters
• Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs

• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Company bakkie for call-outs and travel between sites
