Job Description

Night or day, a shopping mall security office in Sandton never switches off, and neither does your focus on shift. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Sandton-based, with most of your time spent at a shopping mall security office. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
Log every event and action on the monitoring software
Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows

What you need

Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
Good memory for sites, streets and procedures

Nice if you have

CCTV operator short course
Speaking more than one local language
