Management Accountant (Retail Group)

An agricultural co-operative in Bloemfontein needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at an agricultural co-operative in Bloemfontein. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances

• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Completed articles at an audit firm
• Consolidation experience across several companies
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
