Mathematics Teacher (FET Phase)

You'll plan and teach CAPS lessons that stick at an independent primary school in Hammarsdale. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Home base is an independent primary school on the Hammarsdale side of KwaZulu-Natal. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers
• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them

• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance

• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
• Honours degree in your subject or in education management

• Fee discount for your own children at independent schools
• Housing allowance for SGB and state-funded posts where it applies
• School holidays in line with the school calendar

• Put your SACE number, phase and subjects on the first line of your CV; heads sort applications by subject first.
• Add your matric results or pass rates for your classes if they improved; hard numbers beat adjectives.
