Mathematics Teacher (FET Phase)

An independent primary school in Vereeniging needs a teacher who can hold a class and lift the marks. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Vereeniging; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
• Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
• Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP

• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control

• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
• Experience with remedial or inclusive education
