Maths and Science Tutor (Grades 8-12)

You'll help learners who are stuck finally get it, one session at a time, for a home tutoring agency in Brackenfell. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The site is in Brackenfell; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Teach one-on-one or in small groups of up to six
• Assess a new learner's level with a short diagnostic test
• Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection
• Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners
• Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment
• Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing

• Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma
• Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
• Own transport for home tutoring posts
• Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
• Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
• Clear, patient way of explaining ideas

• Second language for learners who study in Afrikaans or isiZulu
• Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers
