Meat Processing Line Worker

Here in Alberton, an industrial bakery needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Alberton, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run

• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start

• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Staff shop with discounted factory products

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
