Job Description

Machines set the pace at this furniture assembly factory in Montague Gardens; you keep up and catch the faults. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The site is in Montague Gardens; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

What you'll actually do

Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card

What you need

Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
