Meat Processing Line Worker

Here in Roodepoort, a snack food factory needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a snack food factory on the Roodepoort side of Gauteng. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run

• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area

• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Company transport on some night shifts
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Staff shop with discounted factory products

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
