Job Description

Real machines, real budgets and real downtime targets at the engineering consultancy in Cape Town CBD. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is an engineering consultancy on the Cape Town CBD side of Western Cape. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What your day looks like

Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend

Must-haves

Able to manage contractors and budgets
Code 08 licence for site visits
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
