Mechanical Design Engineer (Materials Handling) – Immediate Start

This petrochemical plant in Rustenburg needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Rustenburg. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
• Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
• Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
• Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347

• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
• BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
• Able to manage contractors and budgets
