Mechanical Engineer (GMR 2.1 Appointment) – Experienced

Design it, build it, fix it: mechanical engineering work at the paper and packaging mill in Bloemfontein. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is in Bloemfontein (Free State). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
• Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
• Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
• Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems

• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
• Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• Code 08 licence for site visits

• Project management certificate
• Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
• Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)

• ECSA registration fees and CPD paid
• Study support for postgraduate courses
• Medical aid and retirement fund contributions
