Job Description

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the petrochemical plant in Soweto. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a petrochemical plant on the Soweto side of Gauteng.

What your day looks like

Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom

What you need

Able to manage contractors and budgets
Code 08 licence for site visits
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
