Mechanical Engineering Technologist (Projects) – Immediate Start

Real machines, real budgets and real downtime targets at the food and beverage factory in Kuruman. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Kuruman; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
• Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
• Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
• Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart

• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
• Code 08 licence for site visits

• Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
• Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)

• ECSA registration fees and CPD paid
• Study support for postgraduate courses
• Company laptop and CAD licences

• Show results in numbers: downtime cut by a percentage, savings in rand, or a project delivered on budget.
• Keep the CV to three pages. Link to a short portfolio of designs rather than attaching large files.
