Mechanical Engineering Technologist (Projects) – Fixed-Term

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the materials handling equipment manufacturer in Mossel Bay. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Mossel Bay, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
• Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
• Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom

• Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Able to manage contractors and budgets
• BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles

• Study support for postgraduate courses
• ECSA registration fees and CPD paid
• Company laptop and CAD licences
