Metallurgical Sampler

The gold processing plant near Mbombela needs operators who can run their area safely on a 24-hour shift cycle. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a gold processing plant on the Mbombela side of Mpumalanga. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Check pumps, cyclones and thickeners on the plant walk
• Log plant readings and downtime on the shift log
• Clean spillage and keep walkways free of hazards
• Call maintenance for bearing noise, belt damage or leaks
• Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report
• Take samples at set times and bring them to the lab
• Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation

• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
• Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs
• MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
• Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
• At least 1 year operating a processing plant

• Control room experience
• N4 to N6 or a diploma in Extraction Metallurgy
• Laboratory or sampling experience
