Metallurgical Sampler

Keep throughput up and the plant stable at the platinum concentrator near Sasolburg. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a platinum concentrator in Sasolburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Clean spillage and keep walkways free of hazards
• Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence
• Check pumps, cyclones and thickeners on the plant walk
• Log plant readings and downtime on the shift log
• Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation
• Call maintenance for bearing noise, belt damage or leaks
• Adjust reagent dosing and air flow to hit recovery targets

• MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
• Grade 12 with mathematics and physical science
• At least 1 year operating a processing plant
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays

• Learnership opportunities toward a metallurgy qualification

• If you have worked in a control room, say which system and how many hours a shift you ran it.
• Put your maths and science marks on your CV if you are early in your career. Plants use them as a screen.
