Midibus Driver (School Routes) – Permanent

Early starts, clear routes and people depending on you: a staff transport contractor in Bellville is hiring bus drivers. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Bellville-based, with most of your time spent at a staff transport contractor. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Check passenger tickets, tags or staff cards when boarding
• Write the trip log with times, kilometres and fuel
• Count passengers and make sure nobody stands beyond the limit
• Handle breakdowns calmly and keep passengers safe until help arrives
• Pick up and drop off schoolchildren only at approved points
• Follow speed limits strictly; buses are tracked
• Drive fixed routes and keep to the timetable

• Patient and friendly with passengers
• At least 3 years of bus or taxi driving
• Medically fit
• Punctual for very early starts
• Valid PrDP for passengers (P)
• Clean driving and criminal record

• First-aid certificate
• Fluent in more than one language

• Paid passenger PrDP renewal
• Tips and trip allowances on tour charters
• Company uniform

• Write "PrDP P valid until" with the date, right at the top of your CV. It is the first thing a bus operator checks.
• Talk about safety records in the interview. Bus companies want to hear about zero accidents and on-time runs.
